High blood pressure, or hypertension, rarely has noticeable symptoms. But if untreated, it increases risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.
Please check website Manage your blood pressure at home - British Heart Foundation (bhf.org.uk)
Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure, although many will not realise it.
The only way to find out if blood pressure is high is to have blood pressure checked either in a healthcare setting such as at a GP practice or Hospital or to take readings at home.
During the Covid-19 pandemic many patients were unable to access having their blood pressure readings taken.
At London Road Surgery we encourage patients to take Home BP readings and email the results back to the practice via londonroadsurgery@nhs.net or send by post or hand in to Reception.
As it is so important to monitor Blood Pressure we are asking our patients to take their Blood Pressure at home with Blood Pressure machines that can be bought on the internet or in pharmacies. The results will be added to your record and if there are any concerns we will contact you.
Please feel free to use this Home Blood Pressure readings form (DOCX, 21KB) to record your readings.
Enter your blood pressure reading like this:
For example, 120 / 80 mmHG
