Reception Staff
The reception staff are your link with the rest of the Practice. They are entrusted to ask appropriate questions to direct you to the right service or to help the doctor gauge the urgency of the call. All information you give to them will be treated in confidence; all staff are trained in Information Governance which includes Data Protection and Confidentiality. They endeavour to be helpful but are often working under great pressure. Please be patient. They are an important part of the team and have a difficult job - please show them the same courtesy and respect that they endeavour to show you.
Secretarial & Clerical Staff
The secretarial and clerical staff deal with most of the correspondence between the Practice and outside agencies including NHS and private referrals. Medical report requests and insurances are chargeable and a list of charges for non-NHS work is available on request and can be viewed on our Private Services page.
Community Services
We have a close working relationship with the modern matron and district nurses. Our community midwife Karen, runs a clinic every Tuesday morning between 9.30am to 12.30pm in the Surgery. Newly pregnant ladies should self refer to the hospital by emailing maternity@btuh.nhs.uk. We also work closely with the "Vita" counselling service and you can self refer by telephoning 01268 977171.
